CHAPEL IN THE HILLS by Jon Crane -- Fine Art Watercolors flower This setting brought Jon “Inspiration”In honor of the Norwegian heritage of many of the area residents, Chapel in the Hills was built in 1969 on the west side of Canyon Lake Park, Rapid City. An exact replica of the famous Borgund Stavkirke of Laerdal, Norway, this Stave (large pillars) Church offers a quiet retreat built of Douglas Fir. Jon Crane captures the beauty of the intricate woodcarving and unique architecture of the snow covered chapel nestled in the pines.
